Patrick loves play time. He has recently figured out how to grab onto his toys and stuff them his mouth.
In this picture he's wrestling with his giraffe.
The other day Tim found a little T-Rex at Target and Patrick was really happy when he saw it and promptly put it straight into his mouth.
One of Patrick's favorite toys to play with is his Eeyore.
And of course Patrick still loves playing his piano.

First Bug
Patrick's caught his first little bug.
Ginger made him a Doctor's appointment after he throw up on her early this morning, then at the Doc's office while we were checking in, Patrick got Dad. The Doctor looked him over as best as she could with all of his wiggling, giggling, and talking. He wasn't making it easy for her. Everything looked good, his usual wet diapers means he's hydrated, so they stuck his little thumb to get some blood to do a cell count.
He grunted and fussed through the pricking and the blood drawing, but never screamed. And, after everything was done and he was being held by Mommy he was just fine. His white blood cell count is just over where the Doc likes to see it so he gets a little dose of medicine morning and night for the next ten days.
We did find out that Patrick is now over 13 pounds, I guess we'll learn all the other stats next week when we take him in for his well baby check up.

Baby who?
I was wondering recently if Patrick looked like me when I was little, so I asked my Mom to send me a picture of me as a baby. So here is me and Patrick side me side and I'll let you decide.

Of course I also get told all the time Patrick looks like Tim or Me, and I've ever heard that some people say that he looks like Kenny. I also have a picture of my Dad and Patrick and I think he looks like his Grandpa. So I guess Patrick is really a part of the family since he looks like everyone.

Bananas... the next solid food.

Yep, we tried Patrick on bananas. At first he pushed out the banana mash and let it sit on his lips. So I pushed back in and held there for him to taste, and he quickly decided he enjoyed eating bananas.
He went through his little bowl of banana pretty quickly and soon spotted the bright dinosaur that's at the bottom of his bowl. That was it for the banana, the dinosaur was the new hot item of the moment.

Lion Turtle
When I first was pregnant with Patrick, I started knitting Sheldon the Turtle for him. I had never knitted anything in a round before. I had tried knitted socks, but with no success. I guess having a baby gave me incentive to try the technique again. I still haven't made a pair of socks, but I did make a lion outfit for the turtle.
Patrick is enjoying his lion turtle and maybe I'll make some socks for him. I think I'm more likely to make stuff for him than me. Right now I'm also in the middle of making him a toy giraffe, a jiggle ball and an star afghan.

Introduction of Cereal
Patrick is a growing little boy. He's active, enjoys sitting up with a little support, and most recently rolling over. He's also back to waking up every four hours. So, we decided to introduce him to cereal and to see if that would help any. Patrick is getting a little cereal in the evening, so we can bath him afterwards if necessary... As, Patrick enjoys his messes.
Right now he's a bit fuzzy on the idea of what to do with the cereal once the spoon has dropped it off in his mouth. The first night of eating a bit of cereal, ended with him covered in it as he was pushing it out with his tongue and then using his fingers to push it back in for eating.
The second night went better. Towards the end of the little bowl, Patrick was actively sucking the food off the spoon and keeping it in his mouth. But, he would still dribble it out of the corners of his mouth. He seemed to enjoying himself.
Next up in a few days... bananas.

Uncle Kenny
Uncle Kenny came up last night for his birthday. Patrick had a lot of fun playing with him and being cute.
We didn't get any pictures from last night, but this pic was taken on Saturday, when my whole family came up to celebrate Kenny's birthday. In the pictures we are at the Lego store looking around.
Patrick really loves his Uncle Kenny.

Serious time
There is no denying that Patrick is cute, has infectious grins and giggles, but it's his seriousness that makes me laugh the most when I think of them. Food is serious business, so is his Baby Einstein Piano time, and his book time.
Piano time became mandatory a few weeks back, when I showed him the piano a few weeks back. I used his hand to push the keys, as we had been doing for weeks, but this time he started pushing them on his own. We have to leave the piano set to the number setting as this will say numbers as well as play music with lights keyed to the notes. This setting he likes the best as it's the only setting that can be interrupted.
Book time became popular about the same time as piano time. Patrick will sit and look at the pictures in his books as we read them to him and he stays focused for the entire book.
I'm really amazed at these and other changes that have all seemed to happen at once.
