Patrick's Chair

Patrick's been trying out climbing on each piece of furniture. He still needs a step up for the couches, most chairs don't offer enough area for him, but the folding chair in the corner is just right.  It's low enough he can get enough of him up into the chair so he can pull up his bum and legs.

I can do this.

Baking Helper

Mom was baking the other evening and Dad held up Patrick so he could help. When Mom was finished, she handed Patrick a measuring cup still filled with a bit of flour.  Dad got to wear the remaining flour.

Changing Sheets

Our little helper wanted to help with putting on clean sheets.  Dad and Mom did manage to get the sheets on the beds, even with Patrick's help.  For most of the event, little Patrick was in giggles.

Crochet

Mommy's been crocheting on the star blanket again.  She's been working on it off and on for over a year now.  Patrick decided that he should help out Mommy in finishing it.  After getting into Mommy's lap, he was shown how to crochet and decided he could do this without help.

Backpack

We picked up Patrick one of the backpack with a leash for use when he wants to start walking around in stores.  Right now he still wants to ride or be carried around a store, but at home, he loves wearing his backpack.

Stuffed Animal Attack

Mom was sitting peacefully on the couch watching TV, until Patrick wanted up.  He promptly starting pulling down stuffed animals and tossing them at Mommy.  So Mommy and the stuffed animals retaliated. It ended in a large pile and lots of giggles.

Patrick has been rolling cars or other objects around on the floor for a bit now, but this weekend he started making sound effects while doing it.

Pizza dough

We put the curious little boy to work, helping to spread Pizza dough the other night.  He seemed to really enjoy playing with the dough. But he liked eating the finished results even more.

This is fun.

Counter Time

Patrick is one curious kid. He wants to know what is going on and to watch it happening. Patrick got to sit on the counter the other evening while Mom washed dishes as Dad was busy else where for a bit.

Helping Dad

Dad's been working off and on, on assembling writing slopes for calligraphy.  Patrick decided Dad need some help in the assembly process.  Patrick made sure to walk off with each and every tool, usually right before it was needed.

Walking

Patrick is starting to try and walk everywhere instead of just crawling.  He sometimes still reaches for a finger, but most of the time he's going it solo.  He's also been having fun, carrying and picking things up.  The other night before the other kids started their padded weapons practice, Patrick carried around a basketball and then while the other kids ran around, so did he.  He still miss steps and lands usually on his butt, but he's quickly back up and moving.

Fireworks

Patrick got to watch fireworks for the first time.  He did really well, no fussing, no screaming, just his little "I'm trying to figure this out" face.  He only ran and hid behind Dad, for one firework that exploded in a shower of sparks.  It wasn't anything like the others that had been set off up to that point.  Through the entire evening Patrick switched out between Mom and Dad.  Patrick eventually figured out to look up after the big boom from the mortars went off to see the pretty explosion in the sky.

What are they doing?
